Introducing
Equestrian Tai Chi for Therapeutic Riding Instructors
An online course for Therapeutic Riding Instructors to learn Equestrian Tai Chi, and to learn how to teach it to their clients.
This course may be of interest to you if:
1. You teach people with neurological conditions
Equestrian Tai Chi works on the nervous system and it's beneficial for many neurological conditions including Autism.
2. You teach people with learning disabilities
This course has different levels for learning Equestrian Tai Chi and you will learn how to adapt your teaching to people with different levels of ability. As people learn more, then you can teach them more.
3. You have students who are keen learners and look forward to building on their knowledge each week.
Equestrian Tai Chi provides an excellent way for therapeutic students to set and achieve goals while increasing their strength, flexibility and balance. Each week they can learn new movements in the sequence and consolidate their skill.
4. You have people who you know would be interested in Equestrian Tai Chi.
People are becoming more and more aware of the benefits of therapeutic practices now. Equestrian Tai Chi is ideal for horses lovers who are health conscious and looking for a holistic practice to share with the horse.
5. You have older riders who'd enjoy a weekly class with a mind body health focus that complements riding.
Older riders carry such wisdom and should be encouraged to still partake in the horse world. Equestrian Tai Chi is a wonderful way for them to incorporate a Chi practice into their lives. Many older people suffer from stress, high blood pressure, isolation and insomnia. Riders who have adored horses all their lives or who even those who have begun riding more recently benefit from the health giving effects of Tai Chi combined with the therapeutic presence of the horse.
6. You have special interest groups such as people recovering from cancer.
Tai Chi lowers blood pressure, reduce stress, ease pain and stiffness and has been proven to help relieve insomnia symptoms in breast cancer survivors. A study led by Dr. Michael Irwin, a professor of psychiatry and director of the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology at UCLA’s Semel Institute, found tai chi works better than medication for treatment for insomnia. He says it significantly improves insomnia, fatigue and depression.
Here is what you will learn in the course.
I created this course as a learning-teaching course, so that you could get into right away, without having to take months or years before you can begin to teach, or learning hundreds of complicated movements.
The main part of the course has three core modules. Each module includes Equestrian Tai Chi exercises for you to learn, and a Teaching Section with Weekly Lesson Plans for you to follow while teaching your clients. The course is designed for you to begin teaching, as soon as you feel proficient to do so.
In the main part of the course you will learn the First part of The Equestrian Tai Chi Form and Equestrian Chi Gung Exercises. The Equestrian Tai Chi Form is a sequence of movements performed in a flowing manner, while the Equestrian Chi Gung Exercises are single movements, that are repeated multiple times, they are generally symmetrical and are easy to learn. You will learn The Equestrian Tai Chi Form both on the right side and the left sides. The training videos are shown in mirror image to make it easier for you to follow along with them.
How to become a Certified Therapeutic Equestrian Tai Chi Instructor
To be eligible for certification you will need to send videos of yourself practicing Equestrian Tai Chi on horseback. Six videos should be sent in all, ideally spaced about two weeks apart. Each video should show continued improvement in your practice.
As well as this, each week for 12 Weeks, you will be given a new alignment or energy flow to learn and will be asked to write a log of your practice in your course where you will receive feedback and support.
If at the end of your videos series, you demonstrate that you have practiced sufficiently to have enough skill and a good understanding of Equestrian Tai Chi, you will be Certified By Distance as an Therapeutic Equestrian Tai Chi Instructor!

Excited to incorporate Equestrian Tai Chi when teaching ....
Thank you Jenny, your easy to follow program, support and kindness have enabled me to commence my journey of learning Equestrian Tai Chi. This program is helping me to both improve personally and develop a deeper relationship with our horses. I am excited to incorporate Equestrian Tai Chi when teaching, I know it is going to make a huge difference for my clients and their horses.
This class has made a world of difference in how I teach and how the student learns....
Equestrian Tai Chi is amazing! I took this class to enhance my teaching skills when working with disabled riders and it has been one of the best classes I’ve taken.
Equestrian Tai Chi is so gentle and relaxing it is beneficial to both disabled and able-bodied students. Many times I hear the rider simply wants a better connection to his/her horse and Equestrian Tai Chi is the perfect starting point for that!
This class has made a world of difference in how I teach and how the student learns. Equestrian Tai Chi forces the student to slow down and connect before riding which ultimately makes for a better rider. A relaxed rider = a relaxed horse.
My favorite part of teaching Equestrian Tai Chi is seeing how effective it is on the rider and on the horse. Everyone is more relaxed and happy!
The class itself is easy to follow and understand with detailed written explanations of the moves along with videos.
The weekly lesson plans are a great starting point when you begin teaching. Each week flows into the next.
Jenny Pim is an amazing instructor! I cannot thank her enough for offering this class to the world. I highly recommend Equestrian Tai Chi for both therapeutic and non-therapeutic riding instructors.

The exercises seem simple, but the results are amazing ....
I love the Equestrian Tai Chi exercises! They are so easy to learn and so calming to rider and horse.
When I ran my pilot program for breast cancer survivors, we incorporated some Equestrian Chi Gung exercises. These were easy for the girls to learn, so there was no stressing out about not being able to do them correctly. They seem very simple, but the results are amazing!
Often when my friends and I are riding around my property, we will stop at various places along the trail and do some of the Equestrian Tai Chi exercises. It helps the horses remain focused and calm as we ride.
