Calm & Connected
For riders who are tired of being nervous all the time when they ride and want to learn how to calm their fear.
How Calm & Connected can help you manage your fear ...
It does this in three ways:-
It calms your body and helps it to let go of the fear you're holding in it.
If you've been frightened for a long time, or even just a short time, your body is going to be feeling anxious and on edge. The exercises will calm it and make it feel so much more relaxed.
You'll find a letting go of tension, as the exercises begin to make your energy flow again, especially in the places where you've been holding fear in your body.
When we begin to let go of the tense nervous energy of our fear in our body, it opens us up for connection with our horse, and others, so we can enjoy the flow of life again.
It gives you the ability to consciously control your fear when you're out riding.
Your practice of the Equestrian Tai Chi Exercises opens and develops your energy channels, allowing you to send energy to where you want it to go in your body.
Taoist Breathing for Riding gives you the ability to focus your mind inside your body, and to consciously calm the places where it feels fear, using your energy and your breath.
Once your body is relaxed, it’s positive energy will calm your emotions and thoughts. The more you do this the easier it becomes and when you go out riding, you'll have the confidence in yourself to know that you can manage your fear, should you need to.
It helps you to develop a deep energetic and mental connection with your horse.
Your horse is well aware when you're afraid and when you're not afraid. He/she will very soon notice a change in your energy, because horses are masters at reading energy. When you practice the exercises, you are moving into and awakening your Chi energy, this is energy that horses respond to very well.
They sense our new found ability and are drawn to want to connect with us and not be repelled by our fears and anxieties.
Soon you'll notice how responsive your horse is to your every minute thought. You'll feel like there's no real barriers to connection between you. It's very immediate and subtle.
The Exercises and Methods you'll learn in Calm & Connected with calm your body
It calms your body physically so you can manage your fear. It does this by calming the Nervous System, as one of the ways that Chi runs through your body is through your nerves.

Overcome lack of confidence
3 friends & I took our horses to Allegany State Park for a weekend camping trip. I was deathly afraid of how my boy would be considering the fact that taking him trail riding has always not been fun cause he would do everything possible to be the bad boy, therefore I was afraid!
I got on the saddle (while friend held him), did a couple of your breathing techniques & calmed myself down. And it worked!
We went on a 3 HR ride that was so much fun. He was so calm & very well behaved that he blew me & my friends out of the water! We ran up the hills, drank from the creek, meet people in cars driving by, he let kids rub his nose, walked past a barking puppy that was going nuts and so on! I have had my boy for 5 yrs now.
I've gone through 6 trainers in the past to help me to understand on what to do but nothing helped, until a friend sent you to me. I can honestly say you have helped me and I thank you so much. No more fear for me!
The energy flow of the breathing exercises relaxes the rider and gives confidence
I have a diploma in Equine Acupuncture and am a Registered Equine Massage Therapist. 4 Star Equine Services provides rehabilitation for injured horses and teaches students all aspects of Classical Equitation and the day to day care of the horse.
I enrolled in Equestrian Tai Chi with Jenny Pim to actually do the instructors course but at the time had a few nervous riders having problems letting go of their fears and lacking confidence in themselves with the mounted riding. So I thought this Confidence course would also be of benefit. Jenny’s course is put together in such a way it is easy to explain especially about how important our emotions and energy affects the horse. The breathing exercises, and allowing the energy to flow through each body part has been a great benefit to help my students build confidence in themselves.
I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to have a connection to their horse and enjoy their riding with a true partnership.

Able to enjoy riding and hacking out again.
I treated myself to Jenny's Equestrian Tai Chi course as I had become a very nervous rider since having my daughter in 2011.
My horse Baylee an Irish cob mare is mostly quiet and well behaved, but she is strong and gets a bit fresh and jumpy when I hack out on her. I used to feel myself tensing up and was always expecting the worst, which made Baylee even more jumpy as I was transferring my nervousness to her. In the end riding my horse became something I ended up trying to avoid.
Since following Jenny's programme, I have found so much benefit, as I am once again enjoying riding my horse! I am now much calmer and feel more relaxed and in control when I am riding. Baylee is also benefitting and has become a lot steadier and much less jumpy when we hack out. She enjoys me practicing the Tai Chi exercises on her and it has definitely strengthened out bond.
I highly recommend the Equestrian Tai Chi Course to anyone who gets nervous or tense when riding, or even if you would just like to feel more connected with your horse.
Thank you Jenny for putting so much time and effort into making this excellent course.
Horse responds beautifully to the energy
When Sidney and I found each other, he had obviously been handled very roughly and had lots of issues and dramas going on.
I have been practicing the Taoist Breathing and Tai Chi exercises and found that Sidney responds beautifully to the energy, he shows the classic signs of lowering his head and lots of chewing and sometimes yawning.
It has also relaxed me and helped me to increase my focus and awareness in a positive way.
I have been doing this next to him, before working him in hand, and also on his back before a ridden session, and am so pleased to see that he is noticeably more relaxed and displaying less fear and anxiety.
Thank you Jenny for opening this new pathway for us.

A little bit about me ...
My name is Jenny Pim, I'm the Founder and Creator of Equestrian Tai Chi.
I'm a Certified Riding Coach registered with Horse Sport Ireland and I’m a Certified Tai Chi Instructor, registered Tai Chi Instructor for The Tai Chi Union of Great Britain. I've been teaching Tai Chi professionally since 2002.
I created Calm & Connected, because I wanted to help people who are nervous of riding to manage their fear, so they could find within themselves, the strength and the courage, to be able to ride happily. And so they could enjoy their time with their horse, while they were actually on their horse.
I know that if the time is right for you, and you choose to join Calm & Connected, you will learn to calm your fear of riding. If the time is right, it'll feel like you have a deep abiding fear in you, and you no longer want it to be a part of you. It just has to go.
