Leigh-Ann Verge

Leigh-Ann Verge, Certified Equestrian Tai Chi Instructor Level 2

Certified to teach the Equestrian Tai Chi Form Movements to Level 2.

Hi! My name is Leigh-Ann Verge. I’m the owner and head coach at Aisling Ridge Equestrian Centre located on the Niagara escarpment in beautiful Grimsby, Ontario. I have more than 30 years experience riding with horses and more than 20 years experience as a certified level 1 coach and a certified Equine Body Worker. I have a passion for learning and for teaching others what I believe in; partnership-based interactions with horses by putting the horse first.

In my early years I rode and competed in almost every english discipline; Hunter/Jumper, Pony Club, Eventing/Combined Training and Dressage. Over the past 10 years, I have focused on becoming a specialist in equine behaviour and communication as well as rider and horse biomechanics. This has truly enabled me to do what I love… Empower People; Empower Horses. By understanding and listening to our horses we can find harmony with them and ensure their physical, emotional and mental well being in our world. I believe what we do with our horses should be as enjoyable for our horses and it is for us and I make it my goal to always be an advocate for the horse.

I believe it is tremendously beneficial to spend time with horses doing a variety of activities rather than just riding/training. I’m always looking for fun and amazing things to do with my horses, so when I came across Equestrian Tai Chi I was immediately intrigued.

I didn’t have any past experience with Tai Chi, but I was well aware of the fact that horses use their energy in amazing and powerful ways. As I progressed through the course, I noticed some incredible physiological responses from my horses as I would practice. They truly seem to enjoy the experience! It has also helped me and my students become more grounded and more effective with the use of our energy with our horses.
